KortrijkCampus Tower VIVES - Living in the Heart of the Park
The new student hotel on the VIVES campus in Kortrijk forms a landmark and meeting place in the heart of the campus. Located between the forum building and the Stuvo, the building is part of a broader plan to de-populate and green the campus. By deliberately building in height, more space is left for open greenery, creating a new park landscape that gives the campus a softer and more natural character.
Inside, 192 student rooms are planned, complemented by collective spaces for learning, relaxing and living together.

SITE
This park will be the beating heart of student life: a place where students can meet, relax and study in a green environment. Together with the surrounding buildings, the student hotel will form the edge of this new park, contributing to a lively and accessible campus space.
ARCHITECTURAL ELABORATION
The architecture of the building is designed as an all-sided tower without front or back, which dialogues with its surroundings in all directions. The facades are given a rhythmic structure of vertical fins and bronze tones in aluminum, which gives the building a warm and refined appearance. The three-part construction - base, body and crown - gives the volume a clear legibility: a transparent and inviting plinth on the ground floor, a dynamic middle section with student rooms and a bright crown with panoramic roof terrace.
Interior
The interior is conceived as clear and functional, with a calm choice of materials and soft color accents. The student rooms combine compact living with integrated storage and work areas. The collective spaces are open and light, with clear color contrasts that reinforce orientation and identity per zone.
