We deliberately chose raw materials, such as rugged, unfinished brick, as a reference to the characterful and unpolished architecture of the bold favelas. At the same time, reeds, cacti and other natural accents create a playful, exotic atmosphere that invites dreams of vacationing under the Mexican sun.

Through the extensive use of indirect lighting, complemented by carefully placed table lamps, we created an understated and intimate ambiance. This combination of materials, textures and light makes the space warm and inviting, while maintaining a sense of adventure and authenticity.

As a result, Choclo, like Tulum itself, is destined to become a true Mecca for foodies and lovers of culinary discovery, a place where flavors, atmosphere and experience come together in an unforgettable experience.

The property already housed a catering business that had recently been renovated. When redecorating, we chose to keep as much as possible and only modify what was strictly necessary to reinforce the new concept. In this way, the history of the building remains tangible, while at the same time the interior meets the experience we wanted to create.

We deliberately rough-finished the existing walls, creating a tactile and authentic look that emphasizes the property's weathered charm. At the same time, the original moulures, fireplaces and other architectural details remain visible, evoking the feeling of old Spanish properties gripped by the ravages of time. This combination of preservation and subtle interventions strikes a balance between history and modern use, and makes the interior feel both characterful and functional.
